My name is Armin Geiger, and I am a licensed therapist in Austin, Texas. My passion is helping couples and individuals with effective counseling and therapy. You have probably arrived here because you are looking for support or help.
COVID-19 & Telehealth
Due to the current circumstances, all sessions are being conducted online through a confidential and secure interface on my website. Please note that I currently see private pay clients only and am unable to accept insurance. Thank you for your understanding!
Welcome
Maybe you want to make a change in your life, within yourself, or in your relationship. More importantly, I know that whatever brought you here is very dear and personal to you. Having said that, I embrace the significance and depth of your journey.
You may be asking yourself whether I can help you in your search for a solution. The answer is yes - because I specialize in facilitating changes and skills that lead to profound transformations. Therefore, let me extend a warm "Welcome!" You have come to the right place.
Taking the first step
I want you to know that taking the first step is a great sign of strength. Sometimes, even the bravest find it difficult to reach out for help and support. It takes courage, especially if you are new to counseling or therapy. Whether you come for couple's counseling or individual therapy, I welcome you in a trusting, supportive, and nurturing environment.
I look forward to meeting you.

Online Therapy, or Telehealth, is available to clients in Texas and California with access to the Internet. Due to the ongoing pandemic and Covid-19 precautions, it is currently the only way I am seeing clients and conducting therapy and counseling.

Our Work Together
As a caring and experienced psychotherapist, I always instill hope and focus on your strengths. I am here to support and guide you from the very beginning. In a way, you can think of it as a trusting partnership where we collaborate in a safe and confidential environment.
There are many effective ways to go about counseling and therapy; however, the most important aspect is the healing relationship we develop over time. And sometimes, when appropriate, I love to use humor as a liberating and effective tool. With this in mind, I hope you will feel comfortable to be yourself. This is your time and I want you to get the most out of it.
Couples
In many relationships, issues and problems develop gradually. With all the best intentions, partners often use a trial and error approach and "give it their best" to make changes and improvements. Unfortunately, this often does not work. Over time, many end up feeling stuck, frustrated, and angry. Or worse, resentful and hopeless.
But there is hope. I am using the proven and research based Gottman method for couple's therapy. It first examines your relationship and looks at your strengths. Then it sheds a light on areas that need improving. With a hands-on approach, you will learn skills and techniques on how to make desired changes and improvements. The method is so flexible, it can even successfully address infidelity and substance use in a relationship.
Individuals
When you come for therapy, you will find a relaxed and informal atmosphere. In this nurturing, supportive environment, we focus on your goals and gently explore possibilities and different options. I will help you find answers from within to identify the changes you want to make. At the same time, I will support you throughout the process with compassion and respect.
Together, and at your own pace, we discover and realize solutions that work for you. Let me help you empower yourself while guiding you through the changes and transformations you want to make!
Theoretical Approaches
If you are interested in the clinical techniques of my work, this paragraph is for you. My therapy approach is open-minded, emphatic, and personalized. Our interactions will be genuine, trauma-informed, culturally sensitive, and strengths-based.
Treatment is carefully adapted and tailored to each individual person and couple. Through an experiential approach, couples benefit from the proven and research based Gottman Method. Overall, I may draw from Cognitive Behavioral Therapy (CBT), Solution Focused Brief Therapy (SFBT), Dialectical Behavior Therapy (DBT), or Humanistic modes.
